SCRIPTURES
Below are a list of scriptures we can pray for our children. You may want to pray one of these scriptures today:
Acts 16:31 . . . "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
1 Samuel 1:27- 28 Hannah giving her son, Samuel, to the Lord.
"For this child I prayed; and the LORD has granted me the petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the LORD: as long as he lives, he is given to the LORD."
2nd Timothy 1:5 Paul speaking to Timothy
"I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you."
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them: for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 7:7- 11 Ask , and it will be given you: search and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives and everyone who searches finds and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Proverbs 21:21 " He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor."
Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
Psalms 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalms 1 "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers."
Psalms 9:9-10 "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you for you Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you!
Psalms 16:8 Pray our children will "set the Lord always before them because HE is at our right hand and WE WILL NOT BE SHAKEN!"
Psalms 97:10 Pray that they will have a hatred for sin and evil.
Romans 12:1-2 Pray that they will be wholeheartedly sold out to serving Jesus Christ.
Matthew 22:37-38 Pray that their children and grandchildren will know Christ as Savior and serve Him with their whole heart, soul, mind and strength.
Isaiah 40:8 Pray that, whe they leave home, it would be with an eternal perspective and Christ-like values and characteristics.
Psalms 89:1 " I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations."
2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Psalms 18:2 Pray that the "Lord will be our children's rock and fortress and deliver. He is our rock, in whom we take refuge. He is our shield and the horn of our salvation, my stronghold."
Phil. 4:8-9 "Finally, brother, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever, is pure, whatever is pleasing whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."
Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits fo the universe, and not according to Christ.
Psalms 90:12 Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalms 84 3-4 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young - a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they are ever praising you.
Romans 4:20-22 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why it was credited to him as righteousness.
I Corinthians 6:19- 20 Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
2 Corinthians 4:17- 18 So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Phil. 2:13 For it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
