SCRIPTURES

Below are a list of scriptures we can pray for our children. You may want to pray one of these scriptures today:

Acts 16:31 . . . "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

1 Samuel 1:27- 28 Hannah giving her son, Samuel, to the Lord.

"For this child I prayed; and the LORD has granted me the petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the LORD: as long as he lives, he is given to the LORD."

2nd Timothy 1:5 Paul speaking to Timothy

  "I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you."

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them: for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Matthew 7:7- 11 Ask , and it will be given you: search and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives and everyone who searches finds and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Proverbs 21:21 " He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor."

Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Psalms 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Psalms 1 "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers."

Psalms 9:9-10 "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you for you Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you!

Psalms 16:8 Pray our children will "set the Lord always before them because HE is at our right hand and WE WILL NOT BE SHAKEN!"

Psalms 97:10 Pray that they will have a hatred for sin and evil.

Romans 12:1-2 Pray that they will be wholeheartedly sold out to serving Jesus Christ.

Matthew 22:37-38 Pray that their children and grandchildren will know Christ as Savior and serve Him with their whole heart, soul, mind and strength.

Isaiah 40:8 Pray that, whe they leave home, it would be with an eternal perspective and Christ-like values and characteristics.

Psalms 89:1 " I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations."

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Psalms 18:2 Pray that the "Lord will be our children's rock and fortress and deliver. He is our rock, in whom we take refuge. He is our shield and the horn of our salvation, my stronghold."

Phil. 4:8-9 "Finally, brother, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever, is pure, whatever is pleasing whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits fo the universe, and not according to Christ.

Psalms 90:12 Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Psalms 84 3-4 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young - a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they are ever praising you.

Romans 4:20-22 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why it was credited to him as righteousness.

I Corinthians 6:19- 20 Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.

2 Corinthians 4:17- 18 So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Phil. 2:13 For it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

BURDENS

A list of BURDENS and SCRIPTURES to pray for the youth and children of our area, the state and the world.

 

BURDENS

Pray for those who are brokenhearted, lost and crushed in spirit!!

Pray they will find Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Pray for their confession of sin so the healing process can take place in the hearts of these children.

Pray God will help them to forgive. Bitterness is an infectious disease in the lives of many.

Pray that the passing of Faith in God would be passed effectively to the next generations, that our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will know the faithfulness of God and they they will serve Him and communicate Him to their generation!

Pray for single moms to be encouraged that they can guide their children with God.

Pray for children and moms in homes where the dad/husband is not a Christian.

Pray for the children and youth who are being abused. Pray this abuse will stop and the things of darkness will be revealed, and that those abused will be healed emotionally.

Pray for purity and waiting for the mate God has for them!

Pray that teens will have the strength to overcome temptations to do wrong (music, TV, movies).

Pray for a major blow to pornography on the Internet.

Pray that parents will stand firm for what is right and lovingly discipline their children.

Pray for more family dinners together.

Pray for God's blessings on Children's Service League and all organizations in Ft. Smith that help children (Hannah House and Pregnancy Crisis Center).

Pray for the children who are in despair and have no hope, that they will come to know Jesus and live!

Pray that they will turn to God in prayer for guidance with decision making.

Pray for those who have had abortions and that they will understand God's Grace, Love and Forgiveness.

Pray that abortions will be banned and this will no longer be an option for our children.

Pray for REVIVAL to take place in the schools. That going to parties would be the un-cool thing not the cool thing.

Pray for the problem of multiple partners at parties.

Pray for teen fathers to be accountable for their seed.

Pray for great strength for children and youth who are standing strong in their faith for God. Pray that God would give them a boldness and a strength that they feel they can conquer this sinful world.

Pray - "Lord, give us the Lost of our City, our Youth, our Children for our inheritance!"

Pray that all of our households will be saved, the enemy can't have them. They are marked by the blood of the Lamb and they will be saved!

Pray for moms and dads to have soft hearts and that they will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that they will honor him in their homes by reading the Bible together, praying together and going to church together. Pray God is Number One in their homes not things, alcohol, money, TV, popularity, etc.

Pray for an amazing release of youth from drugs and alcohol. That they will be repulsed by the smell, taste, sight of it all.

Pray that the Christian youth and children will shine their lights for Jesus and that the lost will not be able to stay away from them but only want to get to know their Jesus.

Pray that our children's darkness will turn into light and they will take refuge in you, Jesus!

Prayer for Moms - "Be Strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

Pray for so many teenagers who seem to not have a value of human life. The killings that take place like the young man in Kentucky who killed teenagers who were praying before school, problems with gangs, suicide as the answer to problems - just pray that they would value their lives and the lives of all humans.

Pray for the attitude that "Everybody is doing it - why shouldn't I?"

Pray for our children and their spouses to understand all God's truths so that they can serve the Lord with all their hearts and souls.

Pray that ________________will see , the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than any double-edged sword - it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart. Because nothing created is hidden, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must render an account. Hebrews 4:12-14

Pray that ________________will never forget that the Word of the LORD endures forever and moreover, this "Word" is the Good News which has been proclaimed to (him or her). I Peter 1:25

Pray that ___________will always understand and apply the fact that all scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; thus any one who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work. 2 Timoth 3:16-17

Pray that ______________knows that God's power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our knowing the One who called us to his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us valuable and superlatively great promises, so that through them my child might come to share in God's nature and escape the corruption which evil desires have brought into the world.
