How glibly we talk of praying without ceasing! Yet we are quite apt to quit, if our prayer remained unanswered but one week or month! We assume that by a stroke of His arm or an action of His will, God will give us what we ask. It never seems to dawn on us, that He is the Master of nature, as of grace, and that, sometimes He chooses one way, and sometimes another in which to do His work. It takes years, sometimes, to answer a prayer and when it is answered, and we look backward we can see that it did. But God knows all the time, and it is His will that we pray, and pray, and still pray, and so come to know, indeed and of a truth, what it is to pray without ceasing.

My prayer for you today when you receive this newsletter that the stories will ignite a passion in you to NOT GIVE UP PRAYING!! Oh, how we want to give up many times when God does not answer in our timing. My heart has been so burdened for the last few weeks because I want God to hurry up and take care of the issues in my life. Can He work immediately? Yes, but is it for my best? Sometimes it is but most of the time, it is not. So be refreshed and renewed from some of the MDOP reports from January, 2008.
Worldwide Mom’s Day of Prayer Reports
From Coordinator Dianne in Mississippi – Our MDOP did not turn out exactly as planned. I was unable to attend because my mom was in the hospital. Then there was a military funeral planned the same day at our church. A group threatened to come to the funeral to protest the war. So because of the threats there was increased police and military presence for the funeral. Also, the weather was horrible – cold and raining.
The ladies reported to me that they were thankful for those attending! They felt that they were there and able to minister in another way by making coffee and having a warm place open for police and security. Although this was not the original plan for MDOP, all the ladies were there for a purpose and ministered accordingly.
A lady in our church even made a banner for us. It is Beautiful!! The same lady who made the banner took the children’s Sunday School roll and prayed for every child by name. She also filled out bookmarks for each child.
From Clarissa in Ohio – "MDOP was wonderful! This was the first one in our area and the women who came had a mind to pray. We forgot titles and denominations – simply became praying women. There were 17 churches represented!! We prayed for unborn babies, children in foreign countries, children of missionaries, children who are disabled, those in foster care, those who are up for adoption, and for so much more. At the end, we prayed for the requests in the prayer bowl and ended our time with praise.
The weather was cold but not as much snow fell as expected.
Someone said we should meet every month. It was so good to know that so many prayers were going up at the same time."
I want to thank each of you for your reports. During the year, I will continue to send MDOP reports in each update.
Ladies, it is not too late to begin working on your MDOP for 2009!! Please contact Melinda, Director of Coordinators, with any questions that you may have at 479-452-6215 or msparkhawk@hotmail.com.
Keep Praying and Never Quit!!! You ARE making a difference!!
